Footnotes
The title may have been inspired by the works of Hank Jansen,
a pulp fiction writer c1960 and in particular Slay Ride for Cutie.
There's a theory that this is "East Side drum", which would be a
mix of New York and British slang ("drum" meaning gaff, lodgings...), in
a song that is otherwise completely American.
But that may be no stranger than
"before the bed" in Big Shot.
