- Three series of 55-minute episodes on ITV in the mid/late 80s.

all with a background of White Jazz (e.g. Bix Beiderbecke).

- By Gerry Anderson and Christopher Burr.
As far as I know there were just two series of these made, as 10-minute episodes.
Dick is a classic Film Noir seedy private eye who has various adventures in
a Claymation-type world.
Terrible puns, double-entendres, running gags and background gags abound.
- The Double Stretched Levis jeans ad which ran around August-September
1995 appears to be the work of Gerry Anderson, as it's
very similar to Dick Spanner.

- Dr. Who
- Dream Stuffing
A sitcom on Channel 4 by Paul Hines and Su Wilkins
in 1984 about two girls sharing a flat in a London tower block.
Starring Rachel Weaver, Amanda Symonds and Nicholas Lyndhurst.
The theme music was particularly good - performed by Kirsty McColl.
Despite its apparently unoriginal setting, it seemed particularly well-written, fresh and amusing to me.
Not one of the great SitComs but better than most of the Eighties stuff.
- The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin
- David Nobbs: "I didn't get where I am today by looking backwards, so it was a
great surprise to me when I realised I had an idea a new Reggie series"
(Cambridge Evening News 26-Feb-1996).

- 1967-1971 series based on A.P. Herbert's writings, with Roy Dotrice as Albert Haddock and Alistair Sim
as the long-suffering judge. The episode with a cheque written on a cow is legendary.

- The Radio Times of 5-Jul-1997, in announcing the sixth series later in the month,
quotes creator Ian Pattison:
"I agreed that something had to be done about the level of smut
in the show. So, after careful consideration, I've decided to increase it. The show will now
offend in a balanced and even-handed way."

Witzend Productions and Central TV.
A sitcom on ITV by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran in the early Eighties,
with Richard Vernon as a crusty, retired, Brigadier-type (actually a Headmaster) living with his
daughter (Liza Goddard), who's a music teacher and is teaching classical piano to their neighbour,
a fading rock star (Nigel Planer).
Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais were script editors.
(Shown on the SelecTV cable channel from August 1995).
Not one of the great SitComs but better than most of the Eighties stuff.

- Sky 1 cocked up the July '97 run: they started with the final two episodes on Season 3
(Stoker, This Slide of Paradise) then started showing them in the right order
(Rules of the Game...).

As I remember them:
A series of 12 30-minute stories on BBC2 in 1975 by Alan Plater, based on Chaucer's tales.
Twelve fans of Wakefield Trinity (Rugby League) travel in a minibus down to
Wembley for the League Cup Final. Each episode is a hilarious tale by one of
them, as with Chaucer's pilgrim's tales. Strangely never repeated in the 80s or
90s (though will probably appear on UK Gold eventually).

At long last a few episodes of season 1 were repeated on BBC as of Summer 1997 (sport permitting) - I don't think it's been
show since the 70s repeats, after the original 60s showing.
(My firm favourite Western series - High Chapparal being 2nd best).
